Katerina's Therapy for Cerebral Palsy

Video of Katerina’s Therapy for Cerebral Palsy
July 24, 2008, Age 4 years.

If you have read Katerina’s Story, you will recall how her mother was given little hope for improvements in her condition.

Health In Motion Clinic Director Natan Gendelman says that when he saw Katerina for the first time, she could not walk properly. She could not jump—it was not possible for her to jump. She could sit up on her own, sometimes with difficulty. She could roll over on her own from one side, but only with difficulty from the other. Her balance and coordination were very poor. The left side of her body was not functioning properly.

Unfortunately, we do not have video of her when Natan started treating her. In this video you will see Natan working with Katerina.

Natan often appears to be playing with her. But this playing is actually therapeutic treatment. And the treatment has a serious goal. The goal is to teach her to walk, run and jump like other children. For example, when she is bouncing on the ball and laughing and playing, she is continuing to strengthen her balance and coordination.

The video shows Katerina running and jumping with coordination she did not have before treatment at Health In Motion. Natan Gendelman has taught her balance and coordination movements in a playful, yet effective way. Following her therapeutic treatments, her newfound ability to run and jump and laugh, and her enjoyment of life, speaks for itself.
